We believe in active learning for all ages. Our intention is to create projects which can successfully engage a variety of age groups within its different stages. We believe that learning can be informal. We aim to present themes in an interactive and imaginitive way, providing opportunities for the participants to create and have fun, and above all reflect and question the content. Our work with stories targets developing creativity, play and language skills through both performance and workshop content.

We have a number of workshops available and can tailor make them to fit the specific needs of your group. The worskshops all follow the principles of the Curriculum for Excellence and aim to cross curricular areas, creating an environment which is safe and productive to create and share within.

There are three workshop structures to choose from and content within these can be changed and focused on your groups needs.

Puppetry: Making and playing with puppets using scrap materials

Devising: Using props to devise a story

Story Telling: Teaching how to use puppets to create their own stories, using fairy tales as inspiration

Workshops are available from September 2009. There are also workshops available on our current production Twine, which will be touring round schools in the Autumn. Please email info@tortoiseinanutshell.com for more information.
