After completing his training at Queen Margaret University, specialising in Theatre Directing, Ross had worked internationally as a performer and puppeteer. Undergoing an apprenticeship with Bread and Puppet, Ross worked as a stilt walker, puppeteer, puppet-builder and designer at the company's Vermont home.
Since then, Ross has worked as an Assistant Director on Theatre Workshops' production of Marat/Sade, which toured Scotland in 2008.
Ross has worked both professionally and as a student with a variety of different companies throughout Scotland including The Puppet Lab, Visible Fictions, Generation Science, Cutting Edge Theatre Company and Red-I Productions. A former Scottish Young Magician of the Year, Ross has also worked as a magician and Director for Magic at Long Lake Camp, based in New York.
